What Lies Beneath 2010
- Do you wear a mask? Oscar Wilde said “Man is least himself when he talks about his own person. Give him a mask and he will tell you the truth.” So, who lies about who they really are? Have you ever really thought about who you truly are underneath it all? Are we as individuals fundamentally different than everyone else or is there something about each of us as people that none of us can change that makes us all alike? Poets talk about the masks that people wear but why does a mask seem like reality to the person wearing it? If it’s just a mask and not who we really are then it’s a lie isn’t it? That begs the question, whose lie is it? Are we the ones lying? Are we being lied to or is it something all together different?
